Of the three Cartwright son’s, Little Joe always seemed to be the one that the ladies would fall head over heals. His older brother, Adam was handsome, but a little standoffish and middle brother “Hoss” was just big, cuddly and often too softhearted. Joseph was the young, hot tempered member of the family which also made him the “bad boy” of the three. Perhaps, this is why he was so appealing because he had a rough edge that made him attractive, and worth the challenge to see if any woman could tackle this “serial” ladies’ man.

One of my favorite episodes was one in which Calamity Jane played by actress Stephanie Powers fell for Little Joe. She was willing to kill her real “beau” Doc Holiday in order to save Little Joe her new love interest. Basically, any woman that he wanted he was able to win, and break-ups that occurred were usually due to some uncontrollable circumstance rather than to a rejection of Joe. He was the left-handed gun-drawing Cartwright with the sexy flip. He walked with a confidence and stride that made him stand-out from the others rather he was in a saloon or chillin’ on the Ponderosa.
